Job Description:

Provides unit-based leadership working collaboratively with the Nurse Manager, Director, Physicians, and staff. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Ensures that all patients on the unit receive cost effective, professional care that results in positive outcomes and high patient satisfaction while maintaining the highest level of patient safety. Assesses and takes steps to improve quality of patient experience.

Unit Description: This department provides triage, treatment and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting. If the department is designated as a trauma site, the hours and expenses related to triage and treatment of trauma patients is included. However, the hours and expenses related to the administration and support of the Trauma program and its services (i.e. Trauma registry, trauma coordinators) should not be included here. NCI Required. Moderate Sedation Training required.
