As a Senior Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer/Designer at Reese Hackman, you will combine technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and leadership skills to design high-performing mechanical systems that enhance the built environment. You will play a key role in shaping design direction, mentoring emerging engineers, and ensuring technical excellence across every phase of project delivery.ResponsibilitiesManage and lead project teams through all phases of design. This includes development of system designs, directing project teams, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost estimation related to mechanical engineering scope and staff.Maintain existing client relationships and develop new client relationships through the course of project management and business development initiatives.Design, develop, and implement mechanical (HVAC) systems for commercial, and institutional buildings.Provide quality control oversight of mechanical system designs for various project types.Mentor staff members and cultivate strategies for their personal and professional growth.Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within overall building design.Analyze and troubleshoot existing HVAC systems for retrofits or upgrades, providing innovative solutions to improve performance.Ensure that all work adheres to RH standards as well as applicable building codes, standards (ASHRAE, ASPE, NFPA, etc.), and client requirements.Required Qualifications10+ years of experience in HVAC design for commercial and institutional facilities.Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree (ABET-accredited) is preferred.Project Management experience leading design teams.Development of system design concepts and implementation of those concepts through all phases of design.Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.Preferred QualificationsProficiency in RevitPE licensureWhy Reese Hackman?At Reese Hackman, how we treat our employees is as important as how we treat our clients.
