Data Quality Lead (Microsoft Azure / Power BI) Hybrid - Farmington, CT or Morristown, NJ

In short, We Enable Possibility.The PositionAs a Data Quality Lead, you will be responsible for leading quality assurance efforts of Reinsurance Datawarehouse Application used extensively by Reinsurance business teams. The QA lead will work closely with the rest of the Arch Re product management team and business peers to effectively check quality and prepare evidence for Business and Audit signoff for Datawarehouse and Business intelligence project initiatives. The Role will be overseeing the full QA process to ensure reliable, high-quality software delivery. This role establishes and communicates QA standards, coordinates all aspects of software testing, and ensures alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience validating complex data transformations, managing test automation for pipelines, and leading cross-functional teams on cloud data in high scale environments, driving continuous improvement of our data quality and delivery in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.Location / Work ArrangementThis is a hybrid role based in the Farmington, CT office or Morristown, NJ, with an expectation of regular in-office collaboration 3x a week.Job ResponsibilitiesLead QA efforts of Reinsurance Datawarehouse Application releasesCritically analyze business requirements, build and execute QA test plan for Datawarehouse solutions.Design the Master Test Plan (MTP) for data projects, choosing between manual spot-checks and automated regression suitesLead a team of QA Analysts, reviewing their SQL scripts and test casesWork with DevOps to integrate automated data tests into the deployment pipelineImplement automated checks for data completeness and referential integrity within SnowflakeVerify Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and data masking (PII/Sensitive financial data) to ensure compliance with GDPR or industry-specific regulationsReconcile Power BI report against Snowflake raw data and source systems using complex SQLEstablish, maintain, and communicate quality assurance standards, procedures, and policies, including guidelines and best practices for test environment management.Work closely with product manager to develop and execute action plans to address gaps if anyProduce quality control evidence for business and audit approval, as requiredLead User Acceptance Testing with Finance, Actuaries and Underwriters to ensure solution meets business needsCommunicate effectively with both the business and technical teamsDesired SkillsDeep understanding of QA methodologies, testing tools, defect management, and Agile/Scrum delivery practices.Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, data reconciliation, and data validation techniques.Strong experience with Power BI Desktop and Service, including DAX, Power Query (M), and report validation; experience with Tableau, Cognos, SSRS, or similar BI tools is beneficial.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify data anomalies, root causes, and reporting issues.Experience in reinsurance, insurance, or financial services, including familiarity with treaties, premiums, claims, and loss triangles.Experience working with third-party vendors and cross-functional business and technology teams to deliver quality solutions.Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.Strong business orientation with a demonstrated ability to deliver quality outcomes aligned with organizational objectives.Required Education/ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field required.Minimum of 5+ years of Data Warehouse, Reporting, Data Quality, or Data Testing experience.Strong experience with Azure cloud technologies, including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure DevOps, Azure SQL, and other Azure-based data platform solutions.Strong hands-on SQL skills with experience validating, reconciling, and analyzing data used for reporting.Experience testing and validating reporting data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and overall data quality.Experience performing data-focused QA testing, including validation of reporting outputs, business rules, and reporting logic, rather than application UI or workflow testing.Experience testing financial, insurance, reinsurance, regulatory, or operational reporting solutions.Experience with Power BI reporting validation and testing strongly preferred; experience with other reporting and BI platforms such as Tableau, Cognos, SSRS, or similar tools will also be considered.Experience developing, executing, and maintaining QA automation and automated regression testing for data and reporting platforms.Experience creating audit-ready testing documentation, test evidence, and user sign-off materials to support internal controls, compliance, and external audit requirements.Experience working within the insurance, reinsurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.#LI-Hybrid#LI-ZP1For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.$140,000 - $160,000/yearTotal individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
