About This Role
We're seeking an enthusiastic and nurturing Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our dedicated team at Lil' Angels Child Development Center in Camden, SC. As an Assistant Teacher, you'll collaborate with our lead teacher to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment for preschool-aged children. If you're passionate about early childhood education, possess strong interpersonal skills, and are eager to contribute to the growth and development of young learners, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Do- Classroom Support:
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and nap times.
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities.
- Provide individualized attention and support to children as needed.
- Documentation and Communication:
- Contribute to regular communication with parents regarding their child's day and development.
- Support the lead teacher in maintaining accurate attendance records.
- Assist with daily activity documentation, including observations of children's progress and behaviors.
- Parent Engagement:
- Foster positive and open communication with families.
- Co-host parent engagement events, such as parent-teacher conferences, family nights, and workshops.
- Team Collaboration:
- Adhere to all center policies and procedures, as well as licensing regulations.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with the lead teacher and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective program.
- Ability to lift and carry children as needed.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all state licensing requirements.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for children.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- High school diploma or GED (Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred).
