Technology Business Management (TBM) Business Analyst

Location: New York City, NY
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite and 2 days remote; additional onsite days may be required
Duration: 12 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Technology Business Management (TBM) Consultant to support IT financial transparency, cost management, and financial reporting across a broad technology landscape.

The ideal candidate will have experience with TBM, IT Financial Management, IT cost transparency, billing/chargeback, and financial analysis . This role will help improve cost visibility, financial accountability, and the connection between IT services, cost drivers, and business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute TBM Expense Transparency activities across IT divisions.
• Support consistent financial reporting, allocation methodologies, and cost-modeling practices.
• Develop, maintain, and refine TBM financial models and reporting frameworks.
• Manage cost allocation models, service mappings, and Run/Innovate categorization.
• Partner with Service Owners to validate financial inputs and improve understanding of IT expense drivers.
• Maintain reporting used to communicate IT spending insights to stakeholders.
• Validate, enhance, and update TBM allocation methodologies.
• Ensure accuracy and clarity of financial reporting by refining data sources, mapping logic, allocation rules, and cost-modeling assumptions.
• Analyze complex financial and technology datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, and business stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.

Required Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in TBM, IT Financial Management, IT cost transparency, IT billing, or chargeback principles.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Cost allocation
  • Financial reporting
  • Financial analysis
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
  • Data modeling
  • Complex formulas
  • Pivot tables
  • Automation
  • Scenario analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights for non-financial audiences.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Additional Qualifications

• Familiarity with TBM tools and cost-modeling practices .
• Experience with Power BI dashboards and financial transparency reporting.
• Experience with ServiceNow , including:
  • IT Financial Management (ITFM)
  • CMDB
  • Application Portfolio Management (APM)
  • Service taxonomy
  • Request and asset workflows
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or similar ERP systems.
• Experience supporting large, complex technology organizations is preferred.
