Registered Nurse Emergency Department

Job Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The RN uses the nursing process, technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordinates care with other health team members. Essential Functions Assess: Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status (including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills). Seeks and evaluates information from other interdisciplinary team members. Plan: Uses assessment information and critical thinking to collaboratively develop individualized plan of care. Includes patient, family, team, and physician involvement for education and future support. Implement: Directs the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration. Provides or delegates care consistent with plan and professional standards; prioritizes and organizes patient care delivery. Evaluate: Evaluates patient response to interventions, reviews goal achievement, clinical outcomes, and satisfaction. Revises plan as needed. Professionalism: Promotes nursing profession, integrates legal and ethical standards, complies with regulatory guidelines, documents accurately, and understands legal implications of care. Minimum Qualifications Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice; compact licenses transferred within 60 days. One year of licensed RN experience in an Emergency Department. Valid Basic Life Support Certification (BLS). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from accredited institution (required as of 4/27/2025). Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see and read, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment. Verbal communication and audio comprehension during emergency situations. Manual dexterity for precise manipulation of equipment, frequent computer use, and documentation. Lifting and full range movement to transfer patients and move supplies, including heavy items. Walking, standing, and navigating crowded rooms with equipment. Benefits Benefits Eligible: Yes. — Hourly Range: $37.17 - $56.17. Covered by Lutheran Medical Center at Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
