Advanced Practice Provider

Job Summary SUNY Upstate Downtown Campus is a Level I Trauma Center providing critical care and services across a 17+ county region. This part‑time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will serve on the Hospital Medicine Team, scheduling based on operational needs in a 24/7 facility. Key Responsibilities Conduct inpatient encounters, providing education to and interfacing with primary teams, patients, and families prior to discharge. Assess and evaluate patients, order and interpret laboratory tests & diagnostic studies, and arrange referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services. Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, referring physicians, and all members of the health care team. Minimum Qualifications 1 year or more of APP experience. Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or graduate of an accredited PA program). NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA. Current national certification consistent with clinical practice. Have an NPI number and be Medicare enrolled (or eligible for Medicare enrollment within 6 months of hire). CPR‑BLS certification required at the time of appointment. Must successfully pass pre‑employment and credentialing clearances. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in Hospital Medicine or Internal Medicine. Work Days Primarily day shift with rotational weekend and holiday coverage; evening and night shifts may be required based on operational needs. Shifts may range from 8 to 12 hours.
