General Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced General Superintendent to provide leadership and oversight across multiple construction projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will manage field operations from mobilisation through completion, coordinate site teams and subcontractors, and serve as a senior point of contact for project managers, clients, consultants and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include establishing construction plans and short-term schedules, monitoring progress against programme and budget, coordinating labour, materials, plant and equipment, and resolving operational issues before they affect delivery. You will promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with applicable legislation, permits and project procedures, and participate in inspections, audits, toolbox talks and incident investigations. The role will also involve reviewing drawings and specifications, managing subcontractor performance, verifying completed works, supporting cost and change control, maintaining accurate site records, and contributing to project reporting, handover and close-out activities. Regular travel between project sites may be required.

Applicants should have substantial experience in a senior site management or superintendent role, preferably within construction, infrastructure, civil works, utilities, industrial or related project environments. A relevant trade qualification, diploma or degree is desirable, together with demonstrated experience managing complex projects, multiple crews and subcontractors. You will need strong knowledge of construction methods, health and safety requirements, quality systems, scheduling and commercial controls. Excellent communication, planning, decision-making and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to build productive relationships and lead teams in a demanding, fast-paced environment. A current driver's licence and any required site or industry certifications will be advantageous.
