Associate Director, Commercial Leadership Development Program

Merck seeks an experienced commercial leader for a two-year Commercial Leadership Development Program (CLDP) designed to build enterprise leadership capability through three eight-month rotations across marketing, sales, market access, and related functions. The program prepares participants for strategic leadership roles during commercial transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic and operational initiatives across rotation assignments, translating priorities into measurable business outcomes
- Influence cross-functional partners across marketing, sales, market access, and compliance to drive aligned decisions
- Support critical launch planning, readiness, and execution activities with risk identification and milestone management
- Present strategic recommendations and business cases to senior leaders, demonstrating executive presence
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial effectiveness and drive change with accountability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in pharmaceutical marketing, sales, or commercial operations
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and understanding of healthcare ecosystem dynamics
- Ability to influence without authority and lead through change in matrixed environments
- Strong leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills
- Strategic thinking with ability to interpret financial drivers and assess trade-offs
- Data-driven decision-making and analytical capability
