Staff Pharmacist - Burnsville, Minnesota

A well-established healthcare facility in the Burnsville, MN area is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a 13-week contract assignment. This position is ideal for a flexible, detail-oriented pharmacist ready to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care within a dynamic clinical setting. Immediate start is preferred.


Location: Burnsville, MN

Job Type: Contract (13 weeks)

Shift Hours:

• 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
• 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
• 11:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
• Rotating weekends (Saturday & Sunday)

Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept, dispense, and verify prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns.
• Ensure medications dispensed comply with legal standards and patient suitability.
• Maintain confidential, precise patient records and pharmacy files.
• Provide expert patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
• Deliver additional patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on medical device usage such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following proper protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
• Maintain accurate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid Minnesota pharmacist license in-hand.
• Retail pharmacist experience welcomed; training provided if needed.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and weekends as scheduled.
