HSD Senior Systems Engineer

Salary: $112,000 - 152,000 per year Requirements:

• We want someone with a bachelors degree in computer science, information security, management information systems, computer information systems, or a related field from an accredited four-year institution.
• We prefer candidates with a minimum of two years of progressive experience in a network engineering role.
• We value a background in an MSO or the cable industry.
• We need at least 6 years of hands-on Linux administration experience in CentOS or RHEL environments.
• We look for strong automation and scripting capability with Shell, Python, Perl, Docker, and/or Ansible.
• We require 4+ years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting highly available corporate or telecommunications networks.
• We expect advanced troubleshooting skills and a solid command of network security best practices.
• We prefer candidates with associate-level networking certification; professional-level networking certification is an advantage.
• Preferred credentials include CCIE, CISSP, RHCSA, RHCE, CCSE, NSE 7+ or F5-CTS.
• We need flexibility to participate in on-call coverage outside normal business hours.
• We require the ability to travel up to 10%.
• We prefer experience with application design and implementation in DHCP, DNS, or NTP.
• We value exposure to vendor platforms such as Incognito and Infoblox.
• We prefer familiarity with IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, DNS, Docker, LDAP, and related standards.

• We deploy, upgrade, and maintain high-speed data infrastructure that supports our internet services.
• We handle daily administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, along with project work covering analysis, design, development, and testing of technologies.
• We support vendor solutions across core platforms including DNS, DHCP, and DOCSIS provisioning.
• We maintain the lifecycle of HSD applications and assist with backend application upgrades.
• We create low-level design documentation, including configuration templates, procedures, diagrams, knowledge base content, bills of materials, and support materials.
• We provide training to team members on new technology integrations, product introductions, and implementation efforts.
• We analyze project requests to estimate time and cost and help define requirements, risks, and constraints.
• We take part in project delivery and support on-call duties, customer escalations, and overnight network changes.
• We configure, manage, and troubleshoot Linux systems, DNS, DHCP, authentication, and access policy settings to keep performance, security, and connectivity at optimal levels.
• We use Python, Ansible, and other scripting tools to automate tasks, resolve issues, and improve operational efficiency.
• We respond to escalated requests from the HSD Systems Engineering team and serve as a technical point of contact.
• We manage vendor relationships and help resolve complex application-related issues.
