Principal Automation Engineer

Required Skills & Experience
• 8-10+ years of software quality engineering or automation engineering experience in enterprise SaaS environments\n\t• Direct, hands-on experience migrating or rebuilding automation frameworks from Selenium WebDriver to Playwright (primary requirement)\n\t• Strong proficiency in C#\n\t• Hands-on experience with .NET testing frameworks including NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest\n\t• Extensive experience with both Selenium WebDriver and Playwright\n\t• Proven ability to build, maintain, port, and scale automated testing frameworks\n\t• Experience making automation framework decisions, defining standards, patterns, and best practices\n\t• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate automation development, code migration, refactoring, and coverage analysis\n\t• Strong Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline experience for automated test execution and failure triage\n\t• Deep API testing expertise, including REST validation, authentication testing, contract validation, and edge-case coverage\n\t• Experience distinguishing legitimate defects from environmental or framework-related failures\n\t• Experience with JIRA and Xray for test management and defect tracking\n\t• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments as an embedded or matrixed automation engineer\n\t• Experience supporting globally distributed teams\n\t• Strong written and verbal communication skills\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Principal Automation Engineer for a leading enterprise financial software client. This highly visible individual contributor will join a QA & Standards organization that is actively modernizing its automation landscape by migrating from Selenium WebDriver to Playwright across a large-scale SaaS platform serving more than 1,200 global customers. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in test automation architecture, Playwright implementation, C# development, API testing, and Azure DevOps CI/CD practices. This engineer will play a key role in evaluating existing automation assets, rebuilding frameworks where necessary, expanding test coverage, and establishing Playwright standards that will be adopted across the broader QA organization. Candidates with a strong automation modernization background, AI-assisted development experience, and a passion for building scalable, maintainable testing solutions will thrive in this environment
