Join Our Team as a General Gastroenterologist

Our organization is looking for a Board Eligible/Board Certified General Gastroenterologist to become part of our practice located in Henderson, TX (34 miles east of Tyler, TX) and Jacksonville, TX (27 miles south of Tyler, TX).

About Your Role

As a member of our team, you will:

• Collaborate with 4 physicians, 2 advanced practice providers, and dedicated support staff.
• Provide care at two rural short-term acute care hospitals: Henderson (96 beds) and Jacksonville (33 beds).
• Engage in a full-time employed position with no requirements for EUS or ERCP.
• Deliver both inpatient and outpatient services.
• Work Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, including clinic and procedure days.
• Manage a patient load of 20-30 individuals daily.
• Have the opportunity to mentor residents.
• Be open to new graduates.

Utilizing advanced technology, our providers can see more patients without extending their workday. We employ Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to streamline documentation, lessen administrative tasks, enhance patient flow, and ensure precise coding, all contributing to a better work-life balance and increased revenue.

About Our Medical School

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical institution in East Texas and the seventh within the University of Texas System. Our mission focuses on training healthcare professionals to address the unique needs of rural and underserved communities, particularly in East Texas.

We offer a comprehensive Graduate Medical Education program with 20 residency and fellowship training opportunities, allowing graduates to specialize in fields such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia. Additionally, our Master of Biotechnology program equips students with an interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes medical research and innovation in biotechnology.

About Our Facilities

UT Health Henderson is a 96-bed short-term acute care hospital that provides a wide range of medical services, including a 24-hour emergency department designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III Stroke Center. The facility is equipped with advanced surgical suites, cutting-edge diagnostic imaging, obstetrics, orthopedics, general surgery, and a dedicated sleep laboratory.

UT Health Jacksonville is a 33-bed short-term acute care facility that delivers high-quality, patient-centered care. This facility also operates a 24-hour emergency care center, recognized as a Level IV Trauma Center and a Level IV Acute Stroke Facility, offering critical care for various medical emergencies. It features a six-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for patients needing close monitoring and advanced care, as well as modern Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) suites for a family-centered childbirth experience. The hospital is also equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging technology, including 3D mammography.

Both facilities are accredited by The Joint Commission and have recently received an "A" grade in the 2025 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, reflecting our commitment to excellence in patient safety and quality care.
