Woodland Heights Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Surgeon to join a well-established private practice serving the Lufkin community and surrounding region. About the Practice:

This established surgical program offers a comprehensive range of advanced procedures, including:

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
\n
• Valve repair and replacement
\n
• Thoracic procedures
\n
• Vascular surgery
\n

\n

Practice Details:

\n

\n
• Mix of inpatient and outpatient
\n
• Weekly Schedule: 2.5 days in clinic, 2 days in the OR
\n

\n

\n
• Call Requirements:
  \n – 10 call days/month (24-hour shifts, 7am–7am)
  \n – 1–2 phone consults per day on average
  \n – Hospital visits 1–3 times weekly for emergencies
  \n – Hospitalists handle general inpatient consults; CV surgeon responds within 24 hours
\n
• Post-Op Care: 24-hour post-op rounding required
  
\n
• OR Resources:
  \n – 2 dedicated CV Surgery ORs with full block time management
  \n – Access to 2 DaVinci Xi robotic systems
\n
• Support Team Includes:
  \n – Surgical assist for CABG, office manager, receptionist
  \n – Anesthesia support: 80% MD anesthesiologist / 20% CRNA

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery

• Proficient in CABG, valve repair, thoracic, and vascular surgery

• Comfortable balancing clinical, surgical, and consultative responsibilities
