The Assistant Chef plays a vital supporting role in diverse kitchen environments including Fine Dining, Catering, and Casual Dining. Collaborating within a medium-sized team of 4 to 7 members, this position involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining kitchen standards, and contributing to menu planning in a supportive capacity. Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and holidays is required to meet operational demands.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in cooking dishes to meet quality standards
- Manage inventory and order stock to ensure kitchen efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization adhering to sanitation compliance
- Support menu planning and recipe development alongside the chef
- Conduct quality control checks on food and kitchen processes
- Collaborate effectively with team members to maintain workflow
- Perform kitchen maintenance tasks to uphold safety and operational standards
- Work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in culinary arts
- Certification in Culinary Arts
- Food handler certification
- Strong knife skills and ingredient preparation expertise
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Effective time management and communication skills
- Demonstrated teamwork and attention to detail
