Senior Patient Services Specialist - Hematology Oncology

Overview The Senior Patient Services Specialist provides support and clinic coordination of multiple patient care services as well as patient orientation for the Swedish Cancer Institute on multiple campuses, exercising independence in the planning and accomplishment of a wide spectrum of clerical duties. Responsibilities Schedule new patients, follow-up clinic appointments, subsequent treatments, and requested diagnostic tests Acquire insurance verifications, referrals and authorizations Prepare and maintain the patients medical record Reconcile billing issues Answer multiple phone lines and triage phone calls Required Qualifications Coursework/Training - Successful completion of Oncology administrative training within six months Medical Terminology Certification or successful completion of a Medical Terminology course within 6 months of hire 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred (i.e. physician’s office, scheduler, etc.) Experience in obtaining insurance verifications, referrals and authorizations Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree - Emphasis in Health Care or Associate Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with emphasis in Health Care Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: $29.56 - $44.46. The base pay range may be complemented by additional compensation such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
