Position Information Title: Assistant/Associate Professor Department: Social Work Posting Number: F01085 Full Time Position Description The Assistant/Associate Tenure Track Professor position is being hired for the Master of Social Work (MSW) and will report directly to the Department Chair. Tenure Track faculty will be primarily responsible for teaching courses, engaging in service, and scholarship. Responsibilities Teach online and/or hybrid courses in areas of expertise, using innovative teaching modalities. Create or co‑create online asynchronous and/or hybrid course content materials, including: Course syllabi Managing course and course content Reading assignments Recorded and/or live lectures Outlines, scripts, voice‑over, podcasts, and similar Quizzes and exams Discussion boards Assignments Assessments Student support and guidance Instructions and overview Other teaching material Create a student‑centered learning environment, responsive to student needs in asynchronous and hybrid environments. Prepare lectures, PowerPoints, videos, course content and other technology to enhance teaching. Engage regularly with students through online forums, communication, discussion activities, and virtual meetings. Grade learning activities and provide timely and constructive feedback. Mentor student‑directed scholarly work. Academic advising. Actively engage in service activities as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE accredited institution. PhD in Social Work or related field. Two (2) years post‑MSW social work practitioner experience in the field of social work. Two (2) years teaching experience in social work education. Preferred Qualifications Record of peer‑reviewed scholarship appropriate for appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank. Evidence of teaching excellence and potential for scholarly productivity, including grant‑funded research. Practice experience within one or more of the following areas: Research methods Medical/hospital social work Community health Behavioral health and integrated systems Program evaluation and management Policy and advocacy work Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and instructional design. Experience in academic advising and student support services. Experience with online learning management systems, education platforms and technologies. Experience with online pedagogy and tools. Content expertise in generalist or specialized courses, including but not limited to: Research methods Health and social welfare policy and advocacy Research and evaluation Healthcare‑focused social work practice Behavioral health‑focused social work practice Social work within health and aging School‑based social work practice Trauma‑informed practice Substance use assessment and treatment Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Hiring Range $100,000 – $115,000 (range may vary based on scope, responsibilities, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions).
