- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 3 months
- Pay Rate: $60.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: Night Shift - 12-hour nights, 18:45-07:15 (4×12). 36 or 48 hours accepted per week.
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric general Med/Surg patients.
- Administer insulin and heparin drips as required by patient care needs.
- Perform wound vac dressing changes.
- Manage high flow oxygen delivery.
- Assist with limited short-term BiPAP with respiratory support as needed (no additional training required; appropriate for all Med/Surg nurses).
- Float to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding as required.
- Serve in a charge nurse capacity when assigned (preferred for night travelers).
- Attend required unit team meetings: scheduled for the 4th Wednesday of each month from January through October at 1730; in November and December, meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 1730. Additional meetings for night shift staff are conducted at 0730 on the Friday immediately following the Wednesday meetings.
- Respond to call requirement if put on call for a prescheduled shift.
- Work every other weekend as assigned.
- Work assigned holidays as required.
- Provide care for COVID patients as needed.
- Serve as a member of the assigned Inclement Weather Team.
- Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
- EPIC experience required.
- Must be able to take insulin and heparin drips.
- Proficiency with PYXIS medication dispensing system.
- Use of SBAR communication framework.
- Minimum 2 years of experience (see Required Experience).
- Must be able to work holidays.
- Ability to potentially care for COVID patients.
- Must be available to serve on Inclement Weather Team assignments.
- CPI certification.
- Charge nurse experience.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty.
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only).
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Local candidates accepted.
- Night shift schedule: 18:45-07:15 (12-hour nights).
- 36 or 48 hours accepted per week.
- Unit has no PCU level patients.
- Occasional limited short-term BiPAP with respiratory support; no additional training needed.
- Patient diagnoses: adults and geriatrics; general Med/Surg. Daily census approximately 43.
- Special procedures on unit include: Heparin Drips, Wound Vac Dressing Changes, High Flow Oxygen, and limited short-term BiPAP with respiratory support.
- Weekend requirement: traveler will be assigned to every other weekend.

- Scrubs: Not provided. Navy scrubs required.

- Traveler will be assigned to an Inclement Weather Team.
- Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster.
- RTO policy: RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
- RTO maximum: 7 days MAX for AYA Auto Offer.
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty.
- Unit orientation: 24 hours.
- All travelers and staff are required to attend unit team meetings. Meeting invitations will be distributed and added to work calendars. Meetings are scheduled for the 4th Wednesday of each month from January through October at 1730; in November and December, meetings will instead be held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 1730. Additional meetings for night shift staff will be conducted at 0730 on the Friday immediately following the Wednesday meetings.
