AVP of Financial Planning & AnalysisLocation: Ithaca, NY (Finger Lakes region)Compensation: $180,000–$220,000Relocation Assistance OfferedEmployment Type: Full-TimeReports To: Chief Financial OfficerWork Arrangement: HybridPosition Overview:A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (AVP, FP&A) to provide enterprise-level financial leadership, strategic analysis, forecasting, and decision support.This executive-level finance professional will partner closely with senior leadership and operational leaders to drive financial performance, support strategic initiatives, develop financial models, and identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and operational improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the organization's annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.Partner with executive and operational leadership to establish financial targets and monitor performance against budget and forecast.Analyze financial and operational results, identify trends, investigate variances, and provide actionable recommendations.Develop sophisticated financial models and pro formas for potential investments, acquisitions, divestitures, new initiatives, and strategic opportunities.Perform scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and return-on-investment evaluations.Analyze revenue streams, expenses, reimbursement, denial trends, and cost structures to identify opportunities for improved financial performance.Support strategic planning and enterprise decision-making through financial and statistical analysis.Evaluate opportunities for market expansion, new service lines, service-line enhancements, and other growth initiatives.Develop financial plans, performance metrics, and business cases for individual service lines.Analyze market share, competitive trends, and other external data to identify opportunities for growth and improved competitiveness.Analyze revenue-cycle performance and denial information and identify opportunities for process improvement.Partner with cross-functional teams to implement financial and operational best practices.Serve as a strategic financial advisor to department and service-line leaders.Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.Lead, mentor, and develop FP&A professionals while establishing consistent analytical, modeling, and reporting practices.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare financial analysis, financial planning, and budgeting.Minimum of 5 years of experience with enterprise analytics platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.Proficiency with SQL, Python, and/or other coding languages.Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and statistical-analysis capabilities.Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement methodologies, regulations, and industry trends.Advanced Excel and financial/database-system skills.Strong strategic-thinking and problem-solving abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial leaders.Demonstrated leadership experience, including developing and mentoring financial professionals.Preferred:MBA or other advanced degree.Experience with enterprise-level healthcare financial planning and analytics.Experience supporting strategic investments, acquisitions, divestitures, and service-line development.What This Role OffersThis is an opportunity to join a sophisticated healthcare finance organization in a highly visible leadership role.
