Registered Nurse – CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU setting at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage post-operative open heart patients including those following CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, and endovascular procedures
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment including CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheters, and arterial lines
• Perform and assist with bedside procedures including tach/peg placements, chest tube management, Foley insertion, and NG tube placement
• Care for patients with complex diagnoses including cardiac arrest, pulmonary embolism, heart failure, MODS, and sepsis
• Float within scope to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED, or PACU to care for admitted patients as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (RQI certifications not accepted)
• Ability to work at least 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (non-local candidates only); non-local driver's license required on file
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior CVICU or CTVICU experience strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience with advanced equipment such as ECMO, Impella, IABP, CRRT, Hemosphere, Arctic Sun, and Glidescope
• Familiarity with high-acuity cardiac and surgical patient populations including CABG and aortic dissection repair
