About the Position

Job Title: ED Night RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1-2 years preferred, 18 months in an ED environment required License: State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum of 18 months of Nursing experience working in an Emergency Department - ED experience within the past six months - Demonstrated level of performance and practice - Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans - Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services - Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel Description: Our Emergency Department RNs must be ready to care for patients when they need us most. In addition to providing specialized and innovative services, ED RNs must handle an array of emergency situations for patients of all ages. Our Emergency Department nurses are trained to deal with various trauma situations requiring quick and decisive actions. Ideal prospective ED RNs must quickly and accurately assess incoming patients with both physical and mental health conditions. They must be able to prioritize injuries and medical needs accordingly. Schedule includes 36 hours per week. Weekend requirements are every other weekend. Holiday requirements include two winter holidays and one evening or Black Friday. On-call requirement: None. Float requirement: May float to a designated Satellite ED. Required hard skills include ED experience, completion of 8 stroke CEUs, and NIHSS certification. Required soft skills include completion of 4 trauma CEUs. Preferred education is a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
