A day in the life...

Wondering what a day in the life of an RN in Pulmonary at The Iowa Clinic might look like?

• Deliver exceptional care while working in a collaborative Critical Care environment. Our team specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases, conditions, and sleep disorders. We offer a variety of procedures that result in unparalleled precision and safety, including ION Robotic Bronchoscopy!
• Arrive at work in the morning - no night shifts here!
• Provide professional nursing services for patients of assigned physician(s) following established nursing practice standards and medical office procedures; Monday-Friday, standard clinic hours in West Des Moines with coverage (as needed) in Ankeny.
• Conducts comprehensive assessments of patient's care needs
• Room patients and take vitals
• Assists provider(s) with patient triage, identifies nursing diagnoses or problem lists and formulates an initial plan of care based on assessment data
• Spend enough time with your patients to listen to them and get to know them
• Participate in a department potluck or team building activity over lunch
• Visit The Iowa Clinic intranet to see what volunteer opportunities are available to you this month and read what is happening around the clinic
• Return patient calls and ensure all patients feel valued and cared for
• Leave in the evening - hooray for working standard clinic hours!
• The hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00AM - 4:30PM and Friday 7:45 AM - 4:15 PM.

Required Licenses:

• Iowa RN License required.
