BI/Data Analyst

Job Overview:


We are seeking a highly technical, self-driven Data Analyst to backfill a critical long-term contract role. This individual is expected to be independently productive , technically strong, and capable of driving outcomes without hand-holding .


This role carries higher expectations than typical Data Analyst positions.


Required:
• Advanced SQL (Expert Level)


Proven experience optimizing complex queries at scale


Strong understanding of query execution plans and performance tuning
• Python


Hands-on experience with data processing


Experience working in Databricks / PySpark
• Tableau


Ability to build dashboards independently (no training expected)
• Self-Starter / Outcome Driven


Motivated problem solver


Able to work independently and take ownership


Proactively communicates risks and blockers


Job description:
• Independently design, write, optimize, and maintain high-performance SQL queries


Queries will process millions of records daily


Must determine the most optimal query approach without guidance
• Develop, modify, and maintain Python-based data processing scripts
• Work within Databricks / PySpark environments to:


Decide when to process data in Spark vs. Pandas


Avoid sub-optimal data handling approaches
• Build and maintain Tableau dashboards for analytical insights
• Proactively identify data issues, performance bottlenecks, and risks
• Bring problems to the manager proactively , rather than waiting to be asked
• Fully support all existing team data workflows and functionalities
• Modify, update, and run existing scripts as part of ongoing operations
