AP/CP Pathologist Bakersfield, CA Position Summary We are seeking a Board-Certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist (AP/CP) to join a growing, collaborative pathology practice. This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-volume, multi-site environment, providing comprehensive anatomic and clinical pathology services while partnering with a team of experienced pathologists and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate is a skilled diagnostician with experience in surgical and clinical pathology who thrives in a collaborative setting, values high-quality patient care, and is committed to delivering accurate, timely diagnoses. Job Responsibilities Evaluate, interpret, and diagnose a broad range of anatomic pathology specimens, including surgical pathology and cytology cases. Provide expert pathology consultations and communicate clinically significant findings to referring physicians and other healthcare providers. Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality diagnostic services in accordance with established medical standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with pathologists, clinicians, and multidisciplinary care teams to support optimal patient outcomes. Participate in a high-volume pathology practice serving multiple healthcare facilities. Exercise sound independent medical judgment while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Ensure quality assurance, quality improvement, and compliance with applicable accreditation and regulatory standards. Maintain complete and accurate pathology reports and medical documentation. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance pathology services, operational efficiency, and patient care. Stay current with advancements in pathology through continuing medical education and professional development. Job Requirements / QualificationsRequired Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution. Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP). Active California medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to employment. Strong diagnostic expertise in surgical pathology and clinical pathology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered pathology services. Preferred Qualifications Two to four (2-4) years of experience in a pathology practice or comparable clinical setting. Fellowship training in a surgical pathology subspecialty, including but not limited to: Cytopathology Breast Pathology Gastrointestinal (GI) Pathology Gynecologic Pathology Other relevant pathology subspecialties Experience working in a high-volume, multi-site pathology environment. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and continuous professional development. Preferred Competencies Strong diagnostic accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage complex and diverse pathology cases efficiently. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills. Sound clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
