For the fall semester, this role will supporteither paraprofessionals participating in FDU’s PARE(Paraprofessional Alternate Route Educators) Grant Program orReading Specialists employed in schools throughout New Jersey. PAREProgram Supervisors will support paraprofessionals in BergenCounty, New Jersey transitioning into certified teaching roles byproviding mentorship, observation, and evaluation during theirclinical practicum placements. Supervisors will serve as liaisons between FDU and partneringschools, ensuring alignment between university expectations andschool-based practices. Supervisors will conduct observations usingFDU approved inventories. This is a meaningful opportunity tocontribute to the development of future educators. Key Responsibilities Observe and evaluate paraprofessional teacher or ReadingSpecialist candidates during their practicum placements. Conduct goal-setting, pre-observation, and post-observationconferences at least every other week during the semester ( PARE )or three times during the semester (Reading Specialist). Provide timely, constructive written and verbal feedback. Collaborate regularly with cooperating teachers and schoolpersonnel. Submit observation reports, competency inventories, and finalevaluations using FDU’s data management system. Attend required orientations, training sessions, and supervisormeetings. Communicate consistently with the Director of Field Placementand respective graduate program directors regarding candidateprogress and concerns. Support candidates in integrating university curriculum withschool-based practices. Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in Education or a closely related field. Minimum of 5 years of teaching or administrativeexperience. Demonstrated expertise in mentoring or supervisingeducators. Experience working in urban or underserved schoolsettings. Strong communication and organizational skills. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learningenvironment Preferred Qualifications: Experience supervising paraprofessionals or non-traditionalteacher candidates. Familiarity with remote teaching tools and practices. Prior involvement in grant-funded educational programs.
