The City of Richmond, Department of Public Works is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Maintenance Technician, Senior with the Facilities Division. This position will provide electrical services to all General Services Buildings to include John Marshall Courts, Main Street Station, and City Hall. Duties include but are not limited to

In terms of the physical strength to perform the essential duties, this classification is considered to be medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The City of Richmond, Department of Public Works is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Maintenance Technician, Senior with the Facilities Division. This position will provide electrical services to all General Services Buildings to include John Marshall Courts, Main Street Station, and City Hall. Duties include but are not limited to
- Performing Preventive maintenance and repair to various types of mechanical and plumbing equipment
- Assisting maintenance personnel in other classifications, such as plumbers, HVAC Technicians, and electricians, in performing their duties
- Operate power equipment as necessary in performance of tasks
- Performing installations and repairs, carpentry
- Determining repairs necessary on faulty equipment and makes repairs when necessary
- Maintaining log of work orders
- Performing snow and ice removal
- Performing other related duties as required
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Three (3) years of experience, based on assignment;
- An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification.
- Valid Commonwealth of Virginia Driver's License within 30 days of hire.
- Some assignments may require a valid Commonwealth of Virginia Commercial Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Carpentry such as bridges, boardwalks, fences, etc.
- Chemicals and chemical reactions
- Commercial mowing equipment
- Comprehensive knowledge of park lands and the recreational opportunities provided within each parcel
- Electronic databases and related software applications such Trafx Datanet
- GIS and Wayfinding
- High tension rigging systems and hoisting mechanisms, including winches and grip hoists, as well as their various safe applications

- Local environmental science knowledge such as trees, biology, hydrology, geology, etc.
