The US West Environment Market is a critical component of GHD’s overall growth strategy in Americas. The US West Region is looking for a Scientist/Geologist/Engineer to work from our Seattle, WA office. As an Environmental Professional you will have the opportunity to coordinate and manage environmental site assessment and remediation projects. This position is an integral part of our Contamination Assessment & Remediation (CAR) business group and requires a diverse array of responsibilities. The Contamination Assessment & Remediation business focuses on the identification and investigation of contaminants and their impacts on soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapor/air. We also select, design and implement effective and sustainable remedial solutions for contaminated sites. We offer expertise with known and emerging contaminants such as hydrocarbons, solvents, PFAS, nutrients, metals, dioxins and furans, acidity and explosives.Our clients are a mix of public and private organizations in the Petroleum, Oil, Gas, Government (Federal, State, Municipal), Chemical and Manufacturing, Mining, Energy, Transport, Emergency Services, Agriculture, Developers and Legal sectors. As a Scientist/Geologist/Engineer you will provide technical and delivery leadership of the CAR projects for our clients throughout the West. Mentorship and development of junior staff is a critical component of the role. This position will work from our Seattle, WA office; however, there is opportunity for travel to project sites in other areas and to provide desktop support for projects in other regions, domestically and internationally. Solutions could be technical or professional in nature.Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace. Creates a thorough, detailed development plan.Education4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Geology, Natural Resources, Environmental Science or equivalent.Experience6 to 8+ years of related experience, including 1 to 3+ years of project management experience in a client-facing roleProficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & OutlookSolid understanding of the Washington State Department of Ecology Model Toxics Control Act for site cleanups.Experience in the technical delivery of contaminated site investigations and remediation, and environmental case closure.Proven experience in coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple projects while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment.Self-starter and willingness to work in a team in a fast-paced environment.Must be organized and have strong written and technical skillsCritical thinking and problem solving – ability to identify multiple solutions to a problem.Commitment to safety utilizing a behavior based safety (BBS) culture in all aspects of the jobOSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification activitiesStrong verbal and written communication skills EEO Statement US: As a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
