With five hospital campuses and a network of over 1,300 providers, NGHS is committed to delivering exceptional care through: • Clinical excellence across a comprehensive range of specialties • Innovative technology and forward-thinking approaches to patient care • A collaborative culture that empowers physicians and providers • A mission-driven focus that prioritizes patients and strengthens communities • We are committed to improving the health of our community in all we do Practice Overview: • Perform the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgical procedures including CABG (on-pump and off-pump), valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, and reoperative cases • Based on prior experience and interest, opportunity to lead and expand the robotic and minimally invasive cardiac surgery program • Opportunity to participate in LVAD implantation, device exchanges, and mechanical circulatory support management in partnership with the advanced heart failure team • Serve as a core member of the multidisciplinary structural Heart Team, contributing to TAVR, TEER, and complex structural case planning and execution • Collaborate with the thoracic surgery program on complex combined cardiothoracic cases as indicated • Engage in multidisciplinary case conferences, quality review, and outcomes reporting including STS data submission • Participate in quality improvement, protocol development, and strategic program growth initiatives Working together with Physicians like you: • Board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery • Fellowship training in adult cardiac surgery • Established or developing robotic cardiac surgery skills, proctorship available for qualified candidates • Commitment to multidisciplinary Heart Team collaboration and structural heart program participation • Strong operative outcomes and dedication to STS quality benchmarking • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Georgia About Georgia Heart Institute Georgia Heart Institute is the cardiovascular center of excellence for Northeast Georgia and a regional destination for complex, high-acuity cardiac and thoracic care. A fully established robotic cardiac surgery program with dedicated da Vinci surgical capability for minimally invasive mitral valve repair/replacement, atrial septal defect closure, and selected revascularization procedures. Our minimally invasive surgery platform extends to mini-thoracotomy approaches for valve surgery, MIDCAB, and thoracoscopic procedures—supported by experienced perfusionists, OR teams, CV fellowship trained anesthesiologists, and perioperative protocols optimized for enhanced recovery.
