Mel-O-Cream Donuts is an institution in Springfield, having been in business since 1932. While our roots are in the donut shop, today we are supplying bakeries throughout the Mid-West from our manufacturing plant on Springfield's west side. Like so many businesses, we have been challenged to find the right people to staff our facility.

What do we do? We make donuts. This involves mixing dough, processing, cutting, shaping, and forming donuts. Some products are filled, glazed, or iced. This is done in a 30,000 square foot manufacturing area. Rate: $52,000-$64,480+ a year Compensation is commensurate to experience.

This role is non-exempt and overtime-eligible under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Illinois law. Due to production demands, overtime opportunities are frequent, though weekly hours may fluctuate.

Reports To: Production Manager Main Duties/Responsibilities: The Production Supervisor is responsible for the people and processes in the Production department. The Production Supervisor is directly responsible for all aspects of Production Department operation, including quality production methods and practices, worker and food safety as well as collectively managing the entire production staff.

• Accountable for ensuring the company Safety, Food Safety, Quality & Legal requirements are met within the Production department.
• Ensure that employees work safely and are properly trained.
• Supervise daily activities of the production floor operations, motivating the team to ensure that operations are productive, safe and accurate.
• The Production Supervisor must be capable of diagnosing most equipment problems and working with other departments to ensure issues are resolved quickly.
• Develop productive and successful internal and external working relationships at all levels and engage with other areas of the business to achieve overall business objectives, targets and goals.
• Utilize ERP software to ensure production processes are being recorded properly and there is traceability of product

Requirements

Qualifications (Physical, Mental, Experience, Education):

Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or other related fields (WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT CANDIDATE)

• Minimum of two years of experience in production manufacturing or operations management
• Minimum of two years of experience in managing employees
• Ability to be on feet eight to ten hours a day
• Ability to use a computer, computer software, basic math and problem solving skills
• Minimum of two years of experience with Microsoft office including word and excel
• Minimum of two years of experience with an ERP system (e.g. SAP, Batchmaster, Great Plains)
• Ability to multi-task and balance various activities and projects throughout the day
