Heavy Equipment Operator/Ditch Tender

Job Description

A local Irrigation District in Selma is hiring a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator with experience in agricultural equipment, irrigation systems, canal maintenance, and water management . This is a part-time, day shift position (Monday–Friday) with temp-to-hire potential .

If you have experience operating tractors, backhoes, excavators, or loaders and enjoy working outdoors, this is a great opportunity to join a stable local operation.

IMPORTANT: Applicants must live within 15 minutes of Selma, CA (Selma, Kingsburg, or Fowler area). Applications outside this area will not be considered.

Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment including tractors, backhoes, loaders, and excavators
Maintain irrigation canals, ditches, and water control structures
Monitor and manage water flow in assigned areas
Perform ditch cleaning, debris removal, and vegetation control
Conduct equipment inspections and assist with basic maintenance

Requirements:

Experience operating heavy equipment in an agricultural environment
Experience with irrigation systems and canal maintenance
Clean DMV record
Ability to perform heavy physical labor outdoors (50+ lbs lifting)
Must live within 15 minutes of Selma, CA (Selma, Kingsburg, or Fowler area).
Must pass a drug screen
