About This Role

Floresville Early Education Academy seeks a dedicated Lead Infant Teacher to provide a high-quality early learning experience for infants (6 weeks to 12 months) by creating a safe, loving, and developmentally appropriate environment that fosters academic, social, emotional, and physical growth.

This role requires a responsive caregiver who can implement research-based practices aligned with the Frog Street Infant Curriculum and meet the rigorous standards of Texas Rising Star (TRS), NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), and Cognia accreditation expectations.

What You'll Do

  • Establish a nurturing, responsive, and relationship-based environment that caters to each infant’s unique needs and promotes their overall development
  • Implement the Frog Street Infant Curriculum with precision and create intentional activities that stimulate early language, sensory exploration, and motor skills development
  • Develop and maintain individualized care plans for feeding, sleeping, and diapering while ensuring continuity of care practices and collaborating with colleagues to achieve these goals
  • Ensure active supervision and maintain full compliance with DFPS Minimum Standards, Texas Rising Star, NAEYC, and Cognia quality expectations by leading by example and providing guidance to team members
  • Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication, including daily reports, developmental updates, and conferences that promote a culture of mutual understanding and respect
  • Regularly observe, assess, and document children’s developmental progress using developmentally appropriate tools and ensuring alignment with program standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment that embodies the principles of high-quality infant care and serves as a positive influence on children’s learning and development
  • Support and coach assistant teachers to ensure consistency in care and instructional quality, and model professionalism and a positive attitude in the workplace
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuous quality improvement efforts to enhance knowledge, skills, and overall performance
  • Model a commitment to high-quality early childhood education and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented culture that prioritizes children’s needs and well-being

Requirements

  • Lifting up to 40 pounds and engaging in active caregiving tasks are required
  • Nurturing, patient, and attentive demeanor is essential
  • Ability to multitask and maintain a calm, organized environment is crucial
  • Commitment to high-quality early childhood education is expected
  • Ability to sit on the floor, bend, and engage in active tasks throughout the day is necessary
  • Candidates without a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential must be willing to obtain one within 6 months of employment
  • Strong understanding of infant development and caregiving best practices is required
  • Previous experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting is preferred
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or higher is preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues and families is necessary
  • CPR and First Aid certification is required (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
