Safety Specialist II

Supervisor: EHS Manager Subordinates: None Direct Interactions: Division Manager(s), Project Manager(s), Estimator(s), Superintendent(s), Project Engineer(s), and Administrative Personnel JOB SUMMARY: The Safety Specialist II oversees site activities related to environmental health & safety. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Coordinates and implements EHS program at the project level; Creates, evaluates, educates, and administers the EHS program for all levels of project employees; Routinely inspects facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance. Conducts surveys, evaluations, meetings, inspections and investigations of incidents and activities without supervision; Gathers information and correlates data at the project level; Able to perform EHS training on the project and maintain training records to track all safety training conducted personally or by outside firms; Prepares, maintains, and retrieves records, reports, or documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements, including monitoring applications of EHS standards; Promotes Safety Culture between clients, co-workers and subcontractors; Ensures subcontractor safety plans and work practices comply with company and client’s safety standards. Supports all Safety Initiatives on site; Act as EHS Representative during Regulatory Compliance Inspections. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Computer knowledge and efficiency, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office products; Great understanding of Federal, State and local environmental health and safety regulations and standards Excellent understanding of Pre-Task Planning (e.g. JHA/JSA); Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Basic math/statistics & accounting skills; Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times; Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety/health, engineering discipline or equivalent experience; Professional Certification CSP/ASP/CHST or equivalent; Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field or in a related area; Ability to multitask, consistently meet deadlines, deliver on commitments, make decisions quickly; Must be willing to relocate to where the work is Ability to lead a team, work as a team member, and also work alone; High level of professionalism, ethics and integrity; SALARY/ BENEFITS: Salary D.O.E Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance Aflac supplemental insurance Paid Holidays Paid Time Off (PTO) 401K with employer matching contribution #J-18808-Ljbffr Board of Certified Safety Professionals
