Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a dedicated paraprofessional in a dynamic educational environment near Joliet, IL. This full-time, contract position runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, with hours from 8 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday, totaling 32 hours weekly. You'll provide essential classroom assistance and individualized support, working closely with students on the autism spectrum and others with a range of disabilities and behavioral needs across various age groups (3-21).

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid PEL or Paraprofessional Certification (required)
• Previous experience in special education settings preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work compassionately with students with autism and diverse behavioral needs
• Flexibility to support both classroom-wide and one-on-one instruction
• Energetic, patient, and committed to fostering growth in students with varying abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist lead teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct support to students with a range of disabilities, both in classroom environments and as an individual aide
• Help reinforce positive behavioral interventions and classroom routines
• Foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for students of varying ages and developmental levels
• Collaborate with educators and therapists to achieve academic and social goals for each student
• Maintain clear, respectful communication with staff and demonstrate confidentiality
