Role Description The Staff Attorney is a full-time, hybrid role based in Boston, MA, with flexibility for partial work from home. The Staff Attorney will provide direct legal representation to clients impacted by deportation proceedings and family separation, including case assessment, preparation, and advocacy in relevant courts and administrative forums. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting motions and briefs, preparing legal opinions, and offering clear legal advice to clients and partner organizations. The role involves negotiating with opposing counsel and government agencies where appropriate, coordinating with community partners, and participating in outreach events and trainings to increase awareness of legal rights and available services. The Staff Attorney will also contribute to organizational strategy by identifying systemic issues, supporting impact litigation, and assisting with policy advocacy related to immigration and constitutional protections. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law with demonstrated experience providing Legal Advice to individuals or organizations. Experience or coursework in Labor and Employment Law, immigration law, civil rights, or related practice areas. Proficiency in Legal Research, including case law analysis, statutory interpretation, and drafting legal memoranda. Effective Negotiation skills for resolving disputes, engaging with government agencies, and advocating for client interests. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission (or eligibility for admission) to a state bar; Massachusetts licensure or willingness to obtain is preferred. Commitment to social justice, equity, and client-centered advocacy, particularly for immigrant and marginalized communities. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and capacity to manage multiple cases and deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment and to operate independently in a hybrid work setting. Fluency or proficiency in a language commonly spoken in immigrant communities (e.g., Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese) is highly beneficial. #J-18808-Ljbffr
