Job Description
Job Title: RN II - Tele Float Pool


Profession: Registered Nurse

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS


Must-Have: Ability to titrate cardiac drips


Description:
MUST BE ABLE TO TITRATE CARDIAC DRIPS.


Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to signing the contract.


There is a pass/fail simulation lab assessment on the first day of orientation.


Floating is required between all telemetry and medical-surgical units.


Floating may include ICU, Cardiac Tele, as well as all Tele units and medical-surgical areas.


Staff will float based on skill level.


Notification of campus and unit will be provided 1.5 hours prior to shift start.


Floating to different units mid-shift can occur.


Rarely, nurses may float to another campus within a single shift.


Travel time between campuses is approximately 15 minutes depending on traffic.


Nurses must clock out before leaving one campus and clock in upon arrival at the other campus.


Ratios differ by unit with a focus on patient acuity.


Scrub color is navy.


Centralized telemetry is utilized.


RNs must be able to interpret EKGs.


Pharmacy and respiratory therapy are available 24/7.


Common diagnoses include post-cardiac lab, post-vascular procedures, and neuro post-surgical patients.


Nurses may be assigned to different patient populations depending on the needs of the unit.


Weekend shifts are required.


Shifts are 12 hours long, typically from 7 AM to 7 PM.


Nurses must be prepared for various patient care environments including holding areas.


House SWAT nurses are available for specialized patient care needs.


The job involves working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population.


Communication with healthcare teams is essential for optimal patient care.


Nurses must demonstrate a commitment to high-quality nursing standards and patient safety.


Completion of required documentation in the electronic health record is expected.
