About the Position

Job Title

RN - Emergency Room / Med Surg

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Nights (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM) | 36 hours per week | Onsite | Weekend rotation required (every 3rd weekend)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across all units including Emergency Room and Med Surg in a Critical Access facility setting
• Manage inpatient census, typically ranging from 3–8 patients per shift, dividing patient load collaboratively among nursing staff
• Triage and care for emergency department patients, with shared ER patient assignments across the nursing team
• Collaborate with LPNs and CNAs on shift to ensure safe, effective patient care coverage
• Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management
• Participate in on-call crisis nurse support structure as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with documented experience in both Emergency Room and Med Surg
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• ACLS certification through AHA
• PALS certification through AHA
• TNCC certification required
• All certifications must be current at time of submission or have a scheduled class with receipt provided

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NRP (AHA) certification highly preferred
• Experience working in a Critical Access or small rural hospital environment
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
