Clean Room Technician

Job Title

Perform custodial and administrative tasks to support processor and tissue process. Clean lab area, lab equipment, and handle hazardous waste removal, per standard operating and cleaning procedures. Always ensure sterile processing for tissue handling. Comply with all company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Perform routine processes (e.g. dissection, layout, cutting, and vailing) in laboratory, setting according to established procedures and guidelines.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Adhere to all policies and practices from the Quality Management System (QMS) based on company standards and regulatory standards for tissue processing.
• After shift ends, perform custodial duties to ensure the cleanroom and lab area are always clean and orderly with proper documentation of the daily cleaning of BSC's, equipment, floors, tables, carts, etc. as instructed by procedure
• Provide support to processing team (e.g. empty trash, dispose of biohazardous waste, bring supplies, clean work areas throughout the day, etc.)
• Always ensure adequate supplies for cleaning process are available.
• Ensure equipment in all areas is in proper working order
• Perform in-processing (e.g. at various stages such as dissection, layout, cutout, etc.).
• All other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

• HS Diploma or GED
• Prefer previous tissue and sanitization processor experience in commercial or academic lab
• Prefer minimum 1 year experience with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), proper lab techniques and practices (aseptic practices, sterile gowning and gloving), assistance in tissue processing, and proper SOP documentation practices

Skills/Competencies

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; good listener
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Organized, flexible; maintain a high level of efficiency and attention to detail
• Ability to handle time sensitive material and instructions
• Accuracy in recordkeeping and sorting, checking, counting, and verifying information and data; legible penmanship
• Must show aptitude to develop appropriate skills needed for the job
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Ability to effectively work and interact with all members of the laboratory, tissue processing, research & development, and tissue recovery functions
• Serves as a role model for behavior, collaboration, teamwork, and results.
