THE POSITION


The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has an exciting opportunity for a professional Accountant 2 in the Asset Protection Office. In this role you will be responsible for providing oversight, direction, and accountability to the inventory control process at the Fine Wine and Good Spirit stores, Licensee Centers and E-commerce locations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role supports Finance and Operations by ensuring that physical inventory policies and cycle count procedures are followed across PLCB retail locations. The position helps maintain accurate inventory records and identifies discrepancies. As an Accountant 2, you will perform the following duties:
  • Inventory Support: Assist in creating physical inventory and cycle count procedures for all retail locations
  • Discrepancy Review: Reconcile, identify, and document inventory discrepancies while maintaining compliance with inventory policy
  • Process Analysis: Analyze and monitor inventory processes, ensuring compliance, and recommend changes to improve efficiency
  • Report Development: Develop inventory reports and analyze store variances to support operational improvements

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to four days a week, with one day per week in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as an Accountant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting; or
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code.
