Funding Societies | Modalku provides business financing to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which is funded by individual and institutional investors.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager to own the controllership function for our Indonesia operations. This role covers end-to-end corporate accounting, tax compliance, regulatory financial reporting, and audit management across our P2P lending, balance sheet lending, and multi-finance businesses. Beyond the accounting mandate, this role serves as the senior finance authority in the Jakarta office — representing Finance in stakeholder engagements with regulators, auditors, tax authorities, and local leadership. The role is hands-on and fast-paced — suited to someone who can lead a team while staying close to the numbers.

What You Will Do :

• Own the end-to-end month-end close process — supervise daily transactions, enforce deadlines, and sign off on the final P&L and balance sheet
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled with supporting schedules; zero tolerance for unreconciled items at close
• Maintain accounting records in compliance with PSAK, IFRS, and Group accounting standards
• Produce accurate monthly financial reports and reconcile to the core lending system
• Partner with FP&A on monthly variance analysis and management reporting
• Support group consolidation and group audit requirements across P2P, BS Lending, and Multi Finance entities

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure full tax compliance (SPT, WHT, VAT) — accurate and on time, every period
• Ensure OJK regulatory submissions are complete, accurate, and filed within prescribed dea
• Stay ahead of regulatory changes; assess business impact and implement required adjustments proactively
• Own tax audit management — prepare documentation, coordinate with tax authorities, and resolve queries to closure; same rigour applied to OJK examinations and regulatory inspections

Audit & Statutory Reporting

• Manage external auditors and statutory reporting — own the audit timeline and deliverables
• Serve as primary point of contact for all audit queries; drive resolution of complex accounting and regulatory issues raised during audit
• Support group audit requirements across P2P, BS Lending, and Multi Finance entities

Office-Level Finance Leadership

• Act as the senior finance authority in the Jakarta office — the escalation point for accounting judgements, compliance issues, and regulatory matters arising in-country
• Manage and represent Finance in relationships with OJK, tax authorities, external auditors, banks, and other institutional counterparts
• Lead local finance stakeholder engagements; represent the Finance function credibly with Indonesia leadership and external parties
• Build and develop the accounting team — set clear expectations, coach supervisors, and drive performance

What We Are Looking For :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA (CPA Indonesia / ACCA) or Tax Brevet A+B required
• 10-12 years total experience: minimum 2 years in a Big 4 / mid-tier audit firm covering financial services, followed by 5+ years in-house senior controllership role
• Hands-on experience with Indonesian statutory reporting, OJK regulatory submissions, and tax compliance
• Solid command of PSAK (Indonesian GAAP) and IFRS, with demonstrated application in financial services — P2P lending, multi-finance, or banking exposure strongly preferred
• IFRS 9 ECL provisioning experience is a plus given the lending book complexity
• Experience managing month-end close cycles, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting group consolidation
• Proven track record managing external auditors, statutory reporting cycles, and regulatory relationships independently
• Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent); strong Excel modelling skills
• Prior senior people management experience — able to lead a multi-layer team and be accountable for overall function quality
