This position reports to the QHSE Manager at our West Chicago facility.Ionbond – The Surface EngineersIonbond provides advanced coating solutions for applications in the aerospace, medical, food contact, automotive, decorative, tooling and fuel cells industries. Ionbond is part of renowned Japanese industrial consortium IHI Group.What defines this job?Inspect coated parts for coating thickness, coating adherence, surface finish, substrate & coating hardness, size and appearance, records inspection information consistent with prescribed methods and proceduresConduct audits under supervision; control plan audits, product audits, 5S, HSE, QMS self-assessment and customer supplied audit formsResponsibility for relevant Document and Data control, updates and maintains daily inspection logs in a timely and accurate mannerMaintain a clean workstation; ensure it is functioning within required safety guidelines, and maintaining lab equipmentCommunicates effectively to supervision and operating personnel to achieve optimum continuity of workflow and quality, and any other job-related problemsUse precision measuring instruments and makes precision inspection set-upsResponsible for 5S Program (continuous improvement) in the QC area and other areas where assignedOther duties as assignedWhat do we offer?Unleashing potential is at the core of our approach. Proficeint PC skills, including Microsoft Office. Good organization and time management. Must pass a color vision test and math test. Must be able to sit/stand for long periods. Must be able to read small print, as small as 6 font and distinguish color differences. Must be able to wear required PPE. Strong critical thinking skills. Effective communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Good dexterity skills, able to handle precision machined parts. Ability to read instructions in English.
