Asset Management Associate – RWE Americas, LLC Functional area: Finance / Controlling; Operations & Maintenance; Project Management Remuneration: Exempt Role Responsibilities Assist the Asset Manager in driving profitability of solar and battery storage assets (BESS) by analyzing operational and financial performance and identifying the causes for underperformance. Support the development and execution of cost‑reduction or performance‑optimization strategies. Monitor asset KPIs and perform trend analysis to detect performance issues, investigate underperformance, and develop and implement strategies to maximize operational performance; manage technical issues to ensure strategies are fully analyzed and appropriate solutions implemented. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and asset‑level financials to identify opportunities and risks. Manage select vendor/service provider relationships and assist in contract alignment reviews. Provide detailed reporting and insights to internal stakeholders on operational and financial performance. Stay abreast of relevant regulations and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations (local, state, federal, environmental permits) and internal governance processes. Implement and continuously improve local asset management systems and processes consistent with organizational policies and standards. Coordinate across departments to resolve asset‑level issues, communicate clearly with cross‑functional partners, and present findings in meetings with the Asset Manager's supervision. Establish collaborative relationships with key support departments such as Operations, Engineering, HSSE, Procurement, and Controlling. Job Requirements and Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field and/or two additional years of comparable work experience; Master’s degree or professional certification is a plus. Minimum one year of experience; proven experience in the renewable energy sector preferred. Asset Management, Operations, or Controlling experience highly desirable. Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements. Ability to apply operational, financial, and contractual knowledge to drive asset performance. Understanding of key KPIs and data resources. Experience investigating root causes of asset issues using trend analysis. Ability to recommend standard corrective actions. Strong financial modeling and analytical skills. Strong commercial acumen and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to translate technical findings into commercial implications. Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables, meeting deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage internal/external relationships. Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Motivated self‑starter, goal‑oriented, and strong problem‑solving abilities. Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds. Detail‑oriented and has a sound understanding of business concepts. This position is office‑based with some travel and visits to other RWEA offices and field locations. Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time. Pay Range The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $70,000 – $100,000.
