Summary
Serves as a concept conduit related to patient-centered care principles and clinical practice. Identifies PPG practice improvement opportunities and operational changes to improve results. Researches evidence based practice guidelines for ambulatory care. Collaborates with care teams to facilitate use of standard operating procedures and clinical protocols. Plays a pivotal role in guiding medical assistant new hires through their transition into clinical practice. Supports Medical Assistants who need remediation. Is dedicated to ensuring that Medical Assistants are well-prepared, confident, and capable of meeting the demands of their role within the ambulatory clinics. Acts as a mentor, educator, and support system, fostering professional growth and ensuring a smooth integration into the work environment allowing providers to function efficiently and effectively.Key Responsibilities: Supervises and mentors medical assistants after orientation during their transition to practice. Facilitates the transition to practice by providing in-person guidance and support in the clinical settings. Ensures adherence to clinical guidelines, protocols, and standards, offering constructive feedback and evaluation throughout the process. Serves as a role model for professionalism, effective communication, time management, and critical thinking. Assists new hires in developing core clinical competencies and adapting to the responsibilities of the medical assistant role. Provides support, encouragement, and resources to ease the challenges of adjusting to the clinical environment. Addresses new hire's questions and concerns, offering insights into day-to-day operations and best practices within the medical practice. Collaborates with supervisors and clinical partners to ensure that the Medical Assistant is competent and functioning at top of certification. Education Must be a high school graduate or the equivalent with GED. Must have completed a medical assistant program that meets certification eligibility requirements. Licensure/Certification Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). CPR required. Experience 5 years physician office/ambulatory care experience required. Other Qualifications Demonstrates knowledge in the application of policies, procedures, and protocols. Medical office ambulatory knowledge. Must have good written and verbal skills. Knowledge of EPIC. Demonstrated ability to mentor, teach, and provide feedback to others. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to model professionalism and uphold high standards of patient care.
