Swiss-Type Turning Technician, Star Platform

Do Star Swiss lathes feel like second nature? Can you read GD&T and a job traveler at a glance, catch the tiny details others miss, and fine-tune offsets to keep parts dead-on spec? If you love making precision components the right way—safely and consistently—read on.

What you’ll do

Run and set up Star Swiss CNC lathes (sliding headstock) to produce precision components.
Decode engineering blueprints, GD&T, and job travelers to plan and execute operations.
Measure precisely with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges—during in-process and final inspections.
Hold tight tolerances and make smart offsets/adjustments to maintain process control.
Spot and communicate tooling, machining, or quality issues before they affect yield.
Champion safety procedures and contribute to a safety-first culture.
Keep your station clean, organized, and efficient.
Partner with quality, engineering, and production teams to solve problems and improve flow.

What you’ll bring

Strong blueprint reading skills (must-have), including GD&T.
Solid, hands-on experience with metrology tools: calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges.
Relentless attention to detail and a quality-first mindset—nothing but quality parts.
Prior Swiss lathe experience preferred; comfort with precision machining and tight tolerances.

Physical demands

Stand for long periods; bend, reach, stoop, and crouch as needed.
Lift 35–50 lbs safely.
Excellent vision for close-tolerance inspection and reading prints.
Work around noise, coolants, and moving machinery in a manufacturing environment.
