Travel-Certified Surgical Technologist

A Travel-Certified Surgical Technologist is needed for a 13-week assignment. The role involves working 3 shifts per week, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with a rotation of weekend on-call duties. The assignment is located in Eastern Idaho.

Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for assisting in a variety of surgical procedures, including but not limited to the following specialties:

• Burn: Wound debridement, skin grafting, and dressing changes for high acuity patients.
• Dental: Oral maxillofacial procedures and restoration.
• ENT: Tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, parathyroidectomy, and cochlear implants.
• Gastroenterology: Endoscopic procedures including EGD and colonoscopy.
• General Surgery: A wide range of general surgical procedures.
• Gynecology: Ablations, vaginal and abdominal hysterectomies.
• Neuro: Stealth navigation, spinal fusions, discectomy, and craniotomy.
• Open Heart: CABG, femoral popliteal bypass, and fistula surgeries.
• Ophthalmology: Vitrectomy, cataracts, and corneal transplants.
• Orthopedics: Trauma, total joint replacements, and sports medicine procedures.
• Plastics: Breast augmentation and reconstruction.
• Psychiatry: Electroconvulsive therapy.
• Robotics: Assisted surgeries in gynecology, general surgery, and urology.
• Trauma: Damage control resuscitative surgeries involving neuro, orthopedic, and general surgery.
• Urology: Cystoscopy, TURB, TURP, and stent placements.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Travel Certification is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced operating room environment.
• Flexibility to rotate weekend calls and handle varying shift lengths based on operational needs.

Working Conditions

The Surgical Technologist will work in an operating room environment, managing various cases and ensuring that surgical procedures run smoothly. Call shifts may range from 2 to 12 hours, and the workload is designed to maintain a reasonable work-life balance, with no more than 60 hours of work and call combined in a week.
