JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description Vikki Goodwin for Texas is seeking a Content Creator to join the campaign's communications team for the 2026 General Election. This individual will be responsible for creating compelling digital content that grows the campaign's online presence, engages voters and supporters, and tells the story of the campaign across a variety of platforms. The Content Creator will work closely with the Communications Director, digital consultants, and other staff to produce high-quality photo, video, and graphic content that reflects the candidate's voice, advances the campaign's message, and drives engagement. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller who understands the fast-paced nature of political campaigns, has a strong instinct for social media, and can quickly turn campaign moments into impactful digital content. Responsibilities Content Creation Create engaging photo, video, graphic, and written content for the campaign's social media channels, email program, website, and other digital platforms. Capture campaign events, speeches, volunteer activities, and behind-the-scenes moments for use across digital channels. Edit short-form and long-form video content optimized for each platform. Design graphics and other visual assets that support the campaign's messaging and fundraising efforts. Ensure all content reflects the candidate's voice, campaign brand, and strategic messaging. Digital Strategy Collaborate with the Communications Director and digital team to execute the campaign's digital communications strategy. Identify timely opportunities to create reactive and trend-based content while maintaining message discipline. Coordinate with communications, organizing, finance, and political staff to amplify campaign priorities, endorsements, events, fundraising, and volunteer recruitment. Maintain a content calendar and help plan digital coverage for campaign events and major milestones. Analytics & Optimization Track content performance across digital platforms and recommend improvements based on engagement and audience growth. Stay current on platform best practices, emerging social media trends, and new digital storytelling techniques. Assist in developing creative concepts that expand the campaign's reach and increase supporter engagement. Candidate Staffing Travel extensively with the candidate, including evenings, weekends, and overnight trips.. Ensure the candidate remains on schedule throughout the day and assist with transitions between events. Communicate real-time schedule updates and logistical changes to campaign staff while traveling. Requirements Previous experience creating digital content for political campaigns, elected officials, advocacy organizations, nonprofits, labor organizations, or mission-driven brands preferred. Demonstrated experience creating content for Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, and other emerging platforms. Strong photography, videography, video editing, and graphic design skills. Excellent visual storytelling abilities and strong writing skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Comfortable driving long distances throughout Texas. Ability and willingness to assist the communications team on projects outside of the specific scope of content creation; like press outreach, and copy writing. Additional Qualifications Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with campaign staff and consultants. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar creative software.
