Hot Food CookDays - Full Time, Varies Liberty HospitalPosition Summary / Career Interest:This is a variable shift position; the scheduled times will vary within the same work week; 5:00 am – 1:15pm, 7:00 am – 3:30pm, 11:00 am -7:30pm. The Hot Food Cook is responsible for cooking a variety of menu items for patients, guests and Meals on Wheels participants following therapeutic diet orders, standardized recipes and food production schedules.Responsibilities and Essential Job FunctionsMaintains a safe, sanitary work environment conforming to policies and regulationsOperates and maintains food service equipmentStores, labels and dates food items; uses the First In, First Out (FIFO) methodologyCooks a variety of menu items for patients, guests and Meals on Wheels participants following therapeutic diet orders, standardized recipes and food production schedulesFollows HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) principles for time and temperature; records per policyRecords and maintains accurate food production and leftover/waste recordsTastes and evaluates food for quality; ensures quality standards are metServes menu items for patients, guests and Meals on Wheels participants utilizing correct servicing utensil and serving sizeWashes dishes, serviceware and pots/pans in the dishroom and pot/pan areaRemoves trash, boxes and other waste from the departmentCleans throughout the department including but not limited to surfaces, equipment, carts, walls, and floorsPerforms other duties as assignedMust be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
