Job Summary Silvus Technologies is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering team at our headquarters in West Los Angeles, CA. The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 3 days onsite per week (Mon, Wed, Thu). The Engineer will develop and design Electronics Hardware/PCBAs for Silvus’s MANET radios and other advanced R&D projects. Key Responsibilities Component selection, schematic capture and PCB design of multi‑layer PCBs (4‑12 layers). Create wiring diagrams for radio wiring harnesses. Validate new PCB and harness designs meet design requirements. Implement best practices for successful mixed‑signal PCB and harness design. Define PCB stack‑up, materials and design rules to meet performance and manufacturing feasibility. Perform hardware bring‑up, testing and root‑cause analysis on the bench using common lab equipment. Collaborate with PCB Designers, Software, FPGA and RF teams for system‑level implementation. Ensure designs do not produce EMI and are well isolated in high‑EMI environments. Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Minimum two (2) years of experience in multi‑layer PCB design. Experience implementing digital communication peripherals at a hardware level (USB 2.0, Ethernet, I²C, RS‑232). Experience designing power‑supply circuitry. Strong familiarity with test equipment (DMM, bench‑top power supply, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer). Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to federal contracts. All employment is contingent upon successful background check and drug test clearance. Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience with Altium Designer. Competency with simulation tools for high‑speed digital and power‑supply design. Proven experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs and the Vivado IDE. Experience with audio or video codecs. Knowledge of compliance standards such as FCC, CE Mark and MIL‑STD‑461. Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or C. Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment. Strong problem‑solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Office environment with occasional exposure to heat, cold and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field. Lift equipment up to 20 lbs. Perform bending, reaching, kneeling or squatting movements to place items on lower or higher shelves. Walk or move within labs. Compensation and Benefits Annual salary range: $100,000 – $130,000.
