Child Life Specialist (PRN)

St. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking a Child Life Specialist to work PRN floating between various areas of the hospital. Schedule: PRN as needed between 6:30 am-11 pm. Overview St. Louis Children's Hospital is dedicated to improving the health and lives of children. Role Purpose To provide the scope of child life services to children and families who are receiving services from St. Louis Children's Hospital. Responsibilities Collaborate with healthcare professionals and hospital staff to provide optimal family-centered care. Provide child life services to patients and families as assessed and prioritized including psycho-social preparation for hospitalization, procedures, surgeries, and other potentially stressful events. Actively contribute to the efficient operation of the Child Life Department, planning activities, special projects, meetings and outcome measures. Increase awareness of child life services throughout the hospital by providing information about the services, role modeling, medical record documentation, and in-service education. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life, Education, or Life Science. Child Life Internship. No experience required. Preferred Requirements Less than 2 years experience.
