The Orchards at Northwest is looking to add a Full-Time SLP to its incredible team!

The ideal candidate will have experience working with geriatric populations and a strong background in speech therapy. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication in geriatric Patients with a focus on Skilled and Long Term Care strategies to support their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech and language abilities in geriatric patients

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and needs.

• Implement evidence-based speech therapy techniques to improve communication skills.

• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

• Provide education and support to families regarding communication strategies and resources.

• Stay current with developments in the field of speech-language pathology, including new therapies and techniques.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to speech-language pathology.

• Proficiency in patient assessment techniques for effective diagnosis and treatment planning.

• Understanding of anatomy and physiology as it relates to speech and language functions.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and families.

LTC/SNF and experience with Net Health Preferred
