Senior Buyer (Aviation)

An Insight Global client in the aviation industry is seeking a Commodity Manager to support sourcing strategy for high-value aircraft engine components within the CFM56 ecosystem. This individual will play a critical role in securing constrained parts including Life Limited Parts (LLPs), cases, and frames, while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure production continuity and supply chain efficiency. Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies for LLPs, cases, and frames Identify and secure hard-to-find, high-value engine components in a competitive market Partner with operations and supply chain teams to forecast demand and mitigate shortages Build and maintain relationships with OEMs, dealers, brokers, and MRO partners Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements Collaborate with engineering and technical teams on part eligibility and requirements Monitor market trends, fleet transitions, and teardown activity to inform sourcing strategy Ensure compliance with documentation, traceability, and airworthiness standards Must Haves 5–8+ years of experience in aviation parts sourcing, MRO supply chain, or engine procurement Direct experience sourcing LLPs, cases, or frames Strong understanding of the CFM56 aftermarket and serviceable parts network Proven ability to source constrained components under tight timelines Strong negotiation and supplier management skills Nice to Haves Experience working with advanced planning tools (e.g., Palantir) Established network within aviation parts, teardown, or broker community Experience working in a global sourcing environment Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
